Volunteer Service Sundays

Community Career/Vocational Services

Every Sunday, we mobilize our teams of volunteers to make a real difference. Food justice is an important part of community justice. We take donations form local businesses and use them to fight hunger and food insecurity. Our elders and those community members displaced by gentrification and homelessness are some of our most vulnerable.

Ongoing activities throughout the year are held to encourage youth participation and decrease the violence within our communities.

  • Healing is Art and Art is Healing:

TPEC will move progressively in their intentional ability to promote the expression of the arts. Whether the art of choreography and movement, drum circles, verbal linguistic expression, or design by computer technology or manipulation of the hand, TPEC supports the growth of our youth, adults, and Elders to self-express the emotions of the heart. This department will promote events that expose cultural and artistic expression to the Black Community and other People of Color. Through the expression of art, music, fashion, and design, it is our hope that the next generation become empowered through self-discovery and self-love. It is our hope that it may be evident those within the community maintain forward progression towards destigmatizing and removing the stench of the oppressive narrative that often plagues the Black community.

  • Community Connections:

Our community is full of people who want to help! We link other grass root and non-profit organizations who are the people providing services with the people who need them. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and view our website often to see upcoming events, resources, vocational training, master classes, and collaborations. • Policy Change:

By looking at empowering our communities through education on human rights and development together, The People’s Empowerment Center is focusing attention on issues that matter most in the lives of our families and our community. Those opportunities for decent work pay, housing, resources for our formerly incarcerated population, voting rights, understanding fundamental rights to increase awareness and combat racism, biases, and prejudices in our communities are just a few issues we deem important.
